Biography
- He completed his studies in 1987, obtaining a Diploma in Geology and a PhD at the Chair of Applied Geology of the Institute of Geology and Mineralogy of the University of Friedrich – Alexander Erlangen – Nuremberg, Germany.
- Head of Research and Development Department of Silver and Baryte Ores S.A., Perlite Department.
- Geologist Researcher at the Directorate of Mineral Deposits of I.G.M.E. since March 1991.
- Since 1999 Technical Coordinator of the Accredited Quality Control Laboratory of Decorative Stones “LITHOS”
- Director of Mineral Deposits (including LITHOS laboratory) of IGME, from April 2009 to February 2014
- Head of LITHOS Laboratory since February 2014
- Since November 2012, National representative of I.G.M.E. at the Organization of Geological Institutes of Europe (EuroGeoSurveys) and member of the Mineral Raw Materials Expert Group (WFD) of EuroGeoSurveys.
- Head of the Mineral Resources & Mining Division of H.S.G.M.E., since April 2019.
- Member of the committee of the Ministry of Environment and Energy (which was established by Decision No. D7/A/F.7/oik.1242/186/20-1-2011 of the Deputy Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change), for the evaluation of the economic and reserve potential of public mines, publicly dependent mining sites and already explored public quarries of industrial minerals in the country, in the context of specialization and implementation of the new European initiative on mineral resources.
- For more than 30 years of experience in coordinating national programs (Public Investments, NSRF, etc.) and participation in transnational research and technological development programs, on the application of innovative, environmentally friendly technologies for the management and valorization of mining waste, the development of new final products of high added value and technology, the creation of digital databases to highlight the physical/mechanical characteristics of building materials (decorative rocks) of the country, etc.
- Scientific Coordinator of the Museum of Minerals and Rocks of H.S.G.M.E., by Decision 3418/28.07.2020 (SAA: ΨΤΥ146ΜΗΠ8-3ΟΡ) of the General Secretariat, and currently the National Geological Museum (LAW NO. 4819 / Article 142, Issue A’ 129 / 23.07.2021) since July 2020.
